We’ve all had those annoying emails that come through asking, almost begging for our feedback and ratings and worse “upload an image” requests...but what if just for a moment you stopped to think how much difference that could make to informing the choice of others.
I have recently purchased a few items from a shop in Scotland online for my brother’s upcoming wedding and as I needed specialist information with regards to selecting the correct tartan, length of fabric and assistance with styling for attaching the tartan to the back of a dress, it wasn’t something I could do myself or just simply google. I needed assistance and I wanted it from the pro’s.
I chose from a list of online shops that gave me good reviews for delivery and quality of fabric, not only did I receive first class customer care and assistance with correct ordering, I ultimately received beautiful tartan fabric, correct for the clan needed and woollen ribbons for my girls dresses.
Knowing how well this company cared for me, answering my questions with professionalism and receiving exactly what I needed, I immediately went to Google Maps to leave a 5 star review, I also provided an image of the fabric received knowing how important these unbiased reviews are to the livelihoods of businesses.
Thinking nothing more of it, I was surprised to receive an email showing me how many times people had viewed the image and the review I had uploaded and how this was having a positive impact for the company. Not just viewed once or twice but 400 times in a month....that is the difference between writing a review and not bothering and by including an image it impacted the review threefold.
If you want to make a difference to a business, leave a review, make it relevant and for a really big impact upload an image that helps more people find and continue to support the company because sadly giants like Amazon and EBay will strip our high streets bare and we won’t have them anymore.
